The Missing Balance
Balance is becoming an endangered concept in our increasingly polarized world. What happens when we lose the ability to handle differing opinions? The tragic consequences can be seen all around us, from political violence to everyday rudeness.
This raw, unfiltered conversation dives deep into why our society is struggling with fundamental human interactions. When disagreement leads to aggression rather than discussion, we've regressed to toddler-like behavior - unable to process being wrong or hearing contrary views.
The hosts explore how modern parenting approaches may contribute to this problem. Trophy culture, where children receive rewards just for participation, creates adults who never learned to handle failure or disappointment. Without experiencing these necessary setbacks, people develop rigid worldviews that can't accommodate challenge or nuance.
Social media algorithms only exacerbate these tendencies, creating echo chambers that reinforce existing beliefs while filtering out contradictory information. As one host pointedly observes, "Your feed just keeps shoving shit down your throat." Meanwhile, the rise of AI threatens to further blur the line between truth and fiction, making genuine understanding even more difficult.
Perhaps most concerning is the disappearance of basic courtesy and kindness from everyday interactions. Simple acts like saying "thank you" when someone holds a door have become increasingly rare. These small moments of incivility reflect a broader societal shift away from mutual respect and consideration.
The conversation takes a particularly poignant turn when discussing humility and patience - qualities desperately needed yet increasingly rare in public life. The ability to admit when you're wrong and to genuinely listen to others might be our only path forward through these divided times.
Join us for this thought-provoking discussion about where we're heading as a society and what we might do to restore balance, humility, and human connection to our interactions. Subscribe and share your thoughts - we're building this community together.

Hey, everybody, welcome to.
Speaker 1:SakiTumi.
Speaker 2:Hey everybody, it's Ditto. Welcome back to SakiTumi, where we connect people to people, Even if at this point in time time it ends up tragically. I say that because of charlie kirk. Yeah, I was not the biggest fan charlie kirk, but I did respect him, yep you know what I mean I get it that did not. There was no merit there, there's no merit, and we're getting to a point in this country where we are just raising fucking children yeah, no shit, no shit I do not want to make this entire episode about charlie kirk yeah, let's not, because, sad as it is, it is sad.
Speaker 2:I do want to give him his respects. It is sad. I did appreciate the way he said things he debated. He wasn't like it, just like a name calling no, agitator, definitely not but he did have his own opinions that's the problem right, and that's fucking fine.
Speaker 3:Exactly, it's okay everyone is entitled to their own opinions about everything in this life. It doesn't mean you get shot does not mean, you get shot for it doesn't mean you get shot and killed, correct, when you have to shoot and kill somebody.
Speaker 2:It doesn't mean you get shot. It does not mean you get shot for it. It doesn't mean you get shot and killed, correct. When you have to shoot and kill somebody that doesn't agree with you, you are a fucking toddler. Yep, you're a childish toddler For sure. It's like, come on, man Deserves everything he has coming to him. You know you're sitting there and one child that's two or three years old can use their words and the other one can't, and they're playing with blocks yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2:Or bites their ear off, or bites their nose yeah or spits at them because they're children yeah, it's like if you, if you take a block from a child that can't use its words, they hit you yeah right, and that's what we are coming to yeah, pretty much we are not taught anything no, we're no time out.
Speaker 3:time out, time out. We're not. No time out. Time out, time out we're not. We're taught to To stay in line. Also respect people and not treat people as no we're not. Yes, we are no, come on.
Speaker 2:Thanks for showing up. Thanks for showing up. Here's a trophy. You're fucking awesome.
Speaker 3:That's not how it works. That's exactly how it works. That's not how you. Okay, maybe when they're children, but not when you get to a certain age. They don't do that. There's winners and losers, and then there's yeah, you get kicked off teams and everything.
Speaker 2:There's no longer any winners or losers anymore. Yes, there is. There, just no, there isn't there just isn't. How can you say that is given a trophy.
Speaker 3:No, yes they are how is Okay Hard time out here. When you get to a certain age, you're not given a trophy for everything.
Speaker 2:You have never been given the tools you need when you get to that certain age to handle life properly.
Speaker 3:What age is that?
Speaker 2:I don't know Well of course, when you?
Speaker 3:Who wants to be the loser? Of course kids are going to have mental breakdowns and cry or whatever. No one wants to be the loser. And then there's the winners, who rub it in the losers' faces. But there's never trophies at a certain age. Oh yes, there is. Trophies stop at a certain age. Oh my God.
Speaker 2:It doesn't matter, the damage is already done.
Speaker 3:I disagree with that.
Speaker 2:You can disagree with it, yeah.
Speaker 3:You'd be wrong, but you can disagree with it.
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 3:I don't.
Speaker 2:That's true. Giving trophies to children for just showing up is basically ruining their lives.
Speaker 3:Okay, well, okay, I don't see that they're supposed to show up.
Speaker 2:They wanted to play Correct. When you give them a trophy just for doing that, you are crippling them. Okay, you're not showing them the way. You cannot win in life unless you fail.
Speaker 3:Well, I agree, everyone has to fail.
Speaker 2:Everyone has to fail Everyone has to fail it hurts, of course it does.
Speaker 3:Freaking hurts Well anyone, and also it hurts when someone has a different opinion about you, and then you. That's why this is happening, of course it does. Freaking hurts Well anyone, and also it hurts when someone has a different opinion about you, and then you. That's why this is happening. Of course it is.
Speaker 2:You can't take a difference of an opinion Correct, and we're going to go there. The extremists on the left and the right and everything, oh God, yeah, you must be morons.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you have got to be.
Speaker 2:And, yeah, you have got to be. And it's so bad. It is so bad. At what point in life was balance not an option? Right, do you know what I mean? Right, your way is so far off. Yeah, that you're wrong. Yes, I don't give a flying fuck what side you're on, yep, it's just you're so far off. Yeah, you're wrong. Yeah, and you're too stupid to see it.
Speaker 3:It's true, totally true, if you don't have balance in life, you fail. Yes, you have to have balance, so basically, everybody that's on one side or another.
Speaker 2:I don't care what your stance is where you do, and I hate politics. I hate politics.
Speaker 3:Well, it's just politics, it's everything. If you're on a different standard, different opinion, you're still on different sides still on different sides, so it doesn't have to necessarily be politics. No, correct, yes, but I started this out with charlie. No, no, I yeah, yeah, that's why I said that right.
Speaker 2:But if you are on one side over the other, you are already a loser. You've already lost because you can't have balance okay you have to be able to miss the shot and be all right with it be all right with it. I got you saying right correct right if you're not right, you it. I get what you're saying, right, correct.
Speaker 3:Right. If you're not Right, you suck yeah Right and you'll never win. No, you'll never win. Well, you always have that failure attitude and you'll be just not a person to be around because you'll be miserable.
Speaker 2:But we are legit. Raising have nothing to do with your child's personality. I never knew that. It's all genetics.
Speaker 3:I never knew that at all.
Speaker 2:But okay, you can't do anything about it?
Speaker 3:Yeah, but no. No, you have to mold your child. You mold them to a certain time in their lives that you want them to grow up to be decent people. Yeah, okay, you want them to grow up to be decent people. Right, that's correct. Correct, because that's what everybody wants.
Speaker 2:Well, of course we're not doing that. Well, we as a nation are not doing that. Yeah, this whole generation. I don't know what's happening to them. It's your feed. Yeah, oh, it's your feed.
Speaker 3:You think?
Speaker 2:Oh God, it just keeps shoving shit down your throat.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:It just keeps shoving shit in your face. There's a lot of shit out there and it's like, oh my God cut it out.
Speaker 3:Yeah, there's a lot of shit out there.
Speaker 2:I have to question why I'm even on the fucking thing. Yeah true, it's so boring.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I sometimes just put it down, I'm like I can't deal with this.
Speaker 2:Up your ass Right, because they're awful.
Speaker 3:They are awful and this is the society that we're in, as we all know. Yes, but yeah, I don't believe how stuff has just gone sideways. It's really sad Sideways. Well, that's being nice.
Speaker 2:It's like we're actually fleeting ourselves. Yeah, that's how bad. This is True. We're very flexible, right? It's disgusting. It is Charlie Kirk. That was horrible, just horrible.
Speaker 3:And they keep showing that damn video. Take it off that poor family. I know it's awful, absolutely awful. Just get rid of it.
Speaker 2:And the dude's father turned him in.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you know what? That in itself is a sad situation, I know.
Speaker 2:That in itself gives me a little bit of fucking hope.
Speaker 3:Why? What do you mean by that?
Speaker 2:A father turned in his own son Right, knowing what he did wrong Exactly. That's basically a father admitting that he screwed up. Because you have no control you don't the best you could do is try your hardest.
Speaker 3:Oh, when you raise children, children.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, I mean at the end of it. At the end of it, you just hope they're fucking good. Because you hope they're fucking? Because nobody knows, nobody's got a handbook well, I mean, you're right.
Speaker 3:You raise them to a certain age, you like to think you've instilled all your worldly wisdom into them, and then you send them off in the world sink, sink or swim, kids Sink or swim. Nobody has worldly wisdom. Well, okay.
Speaker 2:You're saying no one.
Speaker 3:We are all a bunch of dumbasses.
Speaker 2:That's not true. That is not true. No, it's 100%?
Speaker 3:true, no, not everyone.
Speaker 2:Have you seen the roads, the roads, people on them Driving.
Speaker 1:Yes, it is horrible.
Speaker 3:It is, it's yes, it is freaking horrible. I, I, it's just I don't want to go anywhere.
Speaker 2:I am. I am fucking convinced that I just catch up to him you well, you are so impatient anyway I drive so fast, I just catch up to him and god forbid.
Speaker 3:they should be doing the speed limit, or even five miles over.
Speaker 2:I would be happy if they were doing five miles over. I would be happy if they were doing the fucking speed limit. They don't.
Speaker 3:But yeah, back to that, the poor. When I found out that the dad turned his kid in, I felt like, um, as a parent, I just felt a little like holy shit. You're right now I'm thinking about it. Did I fail you? How did you get to this point and how you? You actually know why. Why did you do this? Like I, I just had a little sympathy for that dad, but I'm like he did the right thing. He had no choice. How could he live with that?
Speaker 2:no, he did the right thing. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's just if you know, I and I'm still that person where I'm like, is this the real guy that did this?
Speaker 1:did they get the real guy god?
Speaker 3:is this the real story? Well, that's just me. That's just that's. That's what I do, right, what you do? Yeah, got to.
Speaker 2:I have to question everything.
Speaker 3:Of course.
Speaker 2:I don't know, because I wasn't there and I didn't see it.
Speaker 3:Right, but I think a lot of people did see him flee in the scene. Is that what happens? I don't really. There's so much stuff out there now I don't even know what happened.
Speaker 2:You can't ever know anything anymore. Yeah, unless you absolutely see it with your own eyes. You can't know anything. No, because you just don't know. And now, right, ai is coming, so watch the fuck out, right. Because, it's going to be awesome. You know, sometimes I accidentally not on purpose but on purpose stumble onto porn.
Speaker 3:Oh no, come on, you can't do this right?
Speaker 2:no, but down there they're like create your own ai girl oh my god, are you serious?
Speaker 3:yeah, how did you find that?
Speaker 2:I didn't know I want to know. No, I didn't. A friend told me oh, a friend, yes, it wasn't me okay I didn't do it. I love that friend, but oh man, and he's got a real addiction. He's got a real addiction I can't, I need a minute, I need a minute oh god, I think he's sitting in his room right now just having at it right now, just have it at it, oh my god, uh, but no, somehow you can now just create your own person okay, wow and then whatever you gotta do over the internet okay, I don't listen, I don't know how it works.
Speaker 2:I go to church on sundays. I'm very wholesome.
Speaker 3:Oh my god okay, let's, let's fast forward through that one I've only had sex once, and I had a child that was it let's not. Please just stop. Let's go back to the subject no, that's the point.
Speaker 2:Oh no, the point is, like you, you can do that now and so basically you're saying you can't believe anything okay and all right.
Speaker 3:So you, what you're saying is that ai could have, or might have, possibly, somebody else or whatever. But yes, I get what you're saying. They could put anywhere, anytime, any person not in a place they're supposed to be or in a place they're supposed to be. I get all that and I'm saying it out loud now.
Speaker 2:Right, Stop worrying about the camera on your phone, because it's going to be obsolete.
Speaker 3:Yeah, shortly Right, but I mean, I think that's what I really did.
Speaker 2:If you could put Tom Brady in the Fox NFL studios in Los Angeles while he's standing in Denver, we're going to have real problems. Yeah, I mean you know crime like you, won't be able to tell anything.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And they claim that they can figure out whether it's real or not. But no, they won't be able to.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I don't know about that one, but right, they probably won't be able to do that.
Speaker 2:But that's where we're going.
Speaker 3:Yeah, no, I agree, and that's what we're facing, and this is what we're facing.
Speaker 2:We're facing somebody like Charlie Kirk that had a voice used. It was killed for it, and now AI is coming up and going to take over everything. Yeah, where are we going? I have no idea. I feel like.
Speaker 3:It's not a good direction, though that's what I am sure Was it James Cameron that did Terminator.
Speaker 2:I think it was. He called it in 1984. These ultra smart robots are just going to take over Yep, and there's nothing you're going to do about it. No, so hopefully AI will figure out how to allow us to travel back in time. Oh boy, so we can stop AI.
Speaker 3:And then we will never have to do that. That would be cool that would be cool.
Speaker 2:That's literally the only hope we have. Yeah, well, and it's crazy, because you know, when we were growing up, things were different.
Speaker 3:Oh, yeah, and it's like that forever, every generation. I get that right, right, correct. But this one's really scary. No, this is really scary, I agree. It's like not even us are going to see it. I think it's probably our kids' kids who are really going to see it too. I don't know how it's going to be, but it's just not going in a good direction. It really isn't.
Speaker 2:No, human beings have taken it away from human beings. Do you know why? I'm sure you're going to let me know, because human beings are a cancer.
Speaker 3:I agree with you on that. They're a cancer.
Speaker 2:Yeah, all they do is destroy things.
Speaker 3:Well, it's true, we're going to destroy each other. We don't have to worry about robots or anything. We're going to take each other out.
Speaker 2:Well, we're building robots to take everyone out. Well, and the the gap between the left and the right is widening day in and day out. No kidding, which is ridiculous. Yeah, because if you really need to have some steadfast belief like that, yeah, so you know, hard and real, it come on, man, yeah no, I, I get that it's like you.
Speaker 2:know it's gonna rain tomorrow? No, it's not. No study every day no, it's gonna rain. Know it's going to rain tomorrow? No, it's not. Nope Sunny every day no, it's going to rain tomorrow. No, it's not.
Speaker 3:Nope Shot Dead. Yes, what the fuck dude Right. It's so sad.
Speaker 2:It is. It's sad. It's sad that human beings aren't even human beings anymore. Yeah, they're just. They're like killing machines.
Speaker 3:Yep, oh yeah.
Speaker 2:It's all the ones in the Midwest. That's not true. Just totally made that up. Threw it out there. I was trying to get you to giggle, oh my God. No, it's definitely. That's definitely not even a giggle situation. It's definitely the people in New York. See, I did it. I can't.
Speaker 3:I'm an idiot, you most certainly are. Oh my God.
Speaker 2:But it's what. Do you have to disagree with somebody so badly for?
Speaker 3:Well, in time out, this is like a young generation. This is not even in like a middle generation, or I mean, I'm sorry, middle age people or older. This is young college kids who have already set their their mindset on this being the norm you want to know what the problem is yeah you and I.
Speaker 2:I don't know what you want to know, why in? A problem zone oh, you're, oh yeah, you're in it, you're in it. No, you want to know why? Why?
Speaker 3:because we have a podcast what does that have any to do then?
Speaker 2:we have the ability to just say whatever the fuck we want.
Speaker 3:Okay.
Speaker 2:Right.
Speaker 3:Oh, without being targeted. Whatever, it doesn't matter. Well, I guess.
Speaker 2:Correct. So my opinions, as strong as they are, are going to offend somebody? Oh, of course, they are, of course, and everyone can do this nowadays, right? Everyone?
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's true.
Speaker 2:Nobody doesn't have. The is what draws a crowd. It's what makes your audience. You have to be polarizing Right.
Speaker 3:Of some interest, yeah.
Speaker 2:Yes, you have to say things that people aren't going to like, right, right, but that's what ends up getting you killed. Yeah, at this point in time, correct.
Speaker 3:And it's nuts. It's like you're afraid to say anything these days. Who are we going to piss off? But the biggest problem is everybody's fucking wrong. Everyone is wrong Again, not everyone.
Speaker 2:Every single person is wrong. I'm wrong. I don't know what the fuck's going on, I don't. I just tell you what I think. That's it. I don't know if it's true or false. If I spot it out there and somebody can listen to this podcast and listen to me and believe what I'm saying and take it as truth.
Speaker 3:Well, that would be scary.
Speaker 2:Oh, trust me, they do.
Speaker 3:Please people.
Speaker 2:Those people listen, trust, trust. They're out there listening to Ditto.
Speaker 3:Listen. We hope you're listening to our podcast, but listen. Ditto's a little off his rocker sometimes.
Speaker 2:Ditto knows. Ditto's the only one on this planet that knows.
Speaker 3:Oh man I am a prophet. Okay, don't do that right now.
Speaker 2:I've called it. Nope, I've said it Uh-uh. And the worst part is and you're going to hate this part You're going to hate it.
Speaker 3:Oh, man, part is and you're gonna hate this part. You're gonna hate it. You're gonna hate it. Really bad, I'm generally always right. No, no, you've seen it, I have not. Yes, you have not all the time you see it all the time. Do God help us all. Jesus, I can't.
Speaker 2:Bam done Good Lord.
Speaker 3:Wow, I just can't. Oh, my God, it's so bad.
Speaker 2:It is not bad. It's literally like I need people to continuously knock me down. I do, and I want them to. I want to be wrong, because I want to teach people humility and patience, Because those are the two things in this world right now, in this time and age, that you just can't teach. Well, correct, try and teach patience to somebody, oh God.
Speaker 3:I have none. I used to. It's gone. See, I have none. I readily admit that. You know that. Get that I have no patience.
Speaker 2:Oh, I know I watch you get fed up with things in like three seconds.
Speaker 3:That's right Bye.
Speaker 2:Damn dogs.
Speaker 3:Catch you later.
Speaker 2:I can't take it but humility, just being able to say you were wrong. Oh yeah, just that simple fact. Yeah, well, goes farther nowadays than please or thank you.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you know what I mean, right, it's so sick Like you can't even get a please and thank you. You're really expecting a lot over there, aren't you Me? Yeah, hold on.
Speaker 2:Forget that. You can't get a, please and thank you. Correct, you hold the door for an old broad. She's like meh, it's so true. It's like if I see an old lady walking into a restaurant or anything, I'm like shut the door on her. No, don't even come in here with that bad attitude. F-u-b.
Speaker 3:Well, time out. You know, honestly, we're talking about that. I wave people on kind of change the trajectory of the day or try to get a good mojo, feel I'm like I stop, let someone in line or I let someone go by. No one waves, no one says thank you, no one. I'm like F you.
Speaker 2:F you. If it's an old lady with glasses on and the chain that comes down on the back so she can wear it around her neck and shit, just get away, because that bitch sucks. She sucks, I'll tell you now, and she probably drives a Subaru. I see, she probably drives a Subaru with a handicap tag in it. Oh my gosh, don't get me started. Now I'm going to get pissed off. Now I'm just going to get pissed. Oh God, you know what?
Speaker 3:I mean, oh man Just breathe.
Speaker 2:Why can't people just be nice?
Speaker 3:Why can't they just be nice? They're very few and far between.
Speaker 2:There are time out. There are people that are still nice and still do the right things. I'm one of them oh, boy, I am.
Speaker 3:But on old ladies like that, I shut that damn door. That's not being very nice. Get out of here, being nice, right out the door I.
Speaker 2:I don't even know her. I already hate her oh man, yeah well she's probably on the left or the right or something like that yeah right, I don't even know she's over there, though I could tell.
Speaker 3:Yes, probably right you know what you get.
Speaker 2:You can also. It's funny, you can see the colors of people.
Speaker 3:Oh, true story. You know what I mean, true story. You can see those old broads.
Speaker 2:You can tell they're just like black, you're negative, it's like then you get some people, they're like you know green and yellow, and you're like hey, come on in here, buddy, you seem cool. Oh gosh, because people they, without even trying, they literally show their true colors oh, 100, 100%.
Speaker 3:You can just read their negative energy and be like no, stand back, you are bad news, bye.
Speaker 2:I love people that are wrong and then have a bad attitude about it. It's your fault. I'm wrong. No, it's not.
Speaker 3:It's your fault.
Speaker 1:you're wrong. Stupid idiot. So true they believe everybody else.
Speaker 3:Shut the fuck up, it's not, oh gosh, yeah, it's your fault. You're wrong, stupid idiot, so true, and then they get pissed and they blame everybody else.
Speaker 2:It's like shut the fuck up, oh my.
Speaker 1:I can't take life anymore.
Speaker 2:I can't, I won't, I just can't do it. Oh boy, People are pissing me off. No shit really. They're just fucking pissing me. I have sworn a lot on this episode.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I do swear a lot.
Speaker 2:You do swear, but I am over the top on this one.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I cannot keep the F word from flying out of my mouth right now.
Speaker 3:It's been one of those days.
Speaker 2:Today was a horrible day.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And yeah, you got me, yay me. Oh man Dude, if you're on the left or the right, just go lay in traffic, seriously because you're not doing anything positive for this world?
Speaker 3:yeah, you're not.
Speaker 2:No, you're not, not looking good without working with the other side, you're never gonna get anything done. It's true story, so just shut the hell up. Yeah, I agree and I can't take it in my feet anymore. I can't. I it's like I just don't want social media anymore. Yeah, if I didn't have this podcast, I wouldn't have it at all yeah, it's not fun no it's not fun anymore no, no, I'd rather.
Speaker 2:I don't like date, oh boy, yeah, no, it's safer. Seriously, what I'd rather get it. I'm gonna take a girl out a couple days from now and we're gonna hear her viagra, just to make sure she's a girl I stop right now, just stop.
Speaker 3:Is it time to go?
Speaker 2:just stop, oh my yeah, it's time to go thank god oh my god yeah, it's, it's time to go. Thank God, holy cow. Yeah, it's. The world is getting fucking crazy.
Speaker 1:Oh man.
Speaker 2:I'm not going to lie, I'm enjoying watching it. I'm enjoying watching people burn themselves to the ground.
Speaker 3:Oh well.
Speaker 2:Your sheer stupidity is going to kill you. You know what you got nobody to fucking blame.
Speaker 3:Well, yeah, it's true, you don't't. That is true. People are just not with it these days.
Speaker 2:No sad state of affairs and everybody has to have a fucking problem. Everyone has to have a problem. Or some sort of uh tag like, oh, I have uh adhd or I I'm uh on the spectrum.
Speaker 3:Oh, to justify. No, you're not.
Speaker 2:You're just like the rest of us.
Speaker 3:To justify their misery, no, to make them feel like they're independent.
Speaker 2:Oh well. They're independent in their problems. But they're just lumping themselves in with everyone else. One big group. It's like no dude, you're just like the rest of us. None of us are very smart. If we were, we wouldn't be here right now.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's true, a hundred percent.
Speaker 2:But you can't do anything about it. Nope, you know that whole comedian. What was his name? Ron White. You can't fix stupid, you can't fix stupid.
Speaker 3:You can't fix stupid, you just can't. No, you cannot. And it's funny to watch, yeah.
Speaker 1:It's just hilarious, oh man.
Speaker 2:Oh, some things that people do. It's like you got to slap yourself against the head to make sure you're alive.
Speaker 1:Did I just watch that, holy Anyway.
Speaker 3:Anyway, anyway.
Speaker 2:T-Bot. Yes, thanks for joining me.
Speaker 3:No problem.
